We look forward to welcoming members and non-members at our competitions. However, members will be given priority if classes are fully subscribed. In the case of classes being over subscribed by members, entries will be taken on a first come basis.
All Dressage competitions are held at Cousland Park Livery near Haddington. For directions, click here. The warm up area will be the indoor school and the tests outdoors, so if its wet/windy/cold you will only be outdoors for a short time.
Please note that cheques for entry fees should be payable to 'Scottish Dressage Group'.
Winter 2017/2018 Points Dressage
The winter the dressage competitions will be run on the first Sunday of the month from October to April, excluding January.
Summer 2017 Dressage Series
Our popular summer evening competitions are held at Cousland Park Training and Livery Centre on the first Wednesday in each of the months.
The competitions will start at 5pm and finish around 9pm. They are run as relaxed, informal events so horses need not be plaited up, and the riders’ dress code is less strict – “smart casual” is acceptable and jackets need not be worn.
The same tests will be run at every event. This allows riders to learn and improve their performance over the summer, and by comparison with the judge’s comments on their performance last summer, when the same tests were used. Classes run will be Intro, Prelim, Novice, Elementary, Medium and Advanced Medium, with Prelim and Intro split into Open and Restricted sections.
Helpers/volunteers are essential for these competitions to take place. Please let a committee member know if you can assist at any of them, even if only for a short period of time.
Dressage Training with Sue Petty
Our thanks to Judy Douglas Miller for offering training dates to our members with trainer and list 1 Judge, Sue Petty.
The last training date was oversubscribed, further dates to be announced.
Pilates for Dressage
Angie Blackwell ran a very successful on horse pilates clinic at Cousland Park at the end of July 2016.
We are also planning to run an Intermediate Pilates for Dressage course as a follow up to the beginner’s course held at the start of the summer - see Newsletter for details of how to register interest.
